God’s Country

A friend of ours visited us at our house in Murray Bridge and told us about her wishes to purchase a piece of land in Tailem Bend from a family member of hers.

A couple of weeks later, my family was driving around in the city when I asked the Lord what He thought about Tailem Bend. Immediately, I saw two words, “God’s Country”. And then, I saw a revival tent. And I saw people in Adelaide City very excited to go up charted buses that would take them to Tailem Bend. And I sensed this was a regular thing, like every week, or fortnight or month or so.

So I kept it in my heart and did not tell anyone. After all, it could just be my imagination. But I didn’t forget it.

A couple of days later, that same friend visited again. I asked her, “What do you think about the spiritual atmosphere in Tailem Bend?”

“Oh, terrible. Full of witches.” She went on to describe what she meant.

“I had an impression, just an impression — God’s Country. Tailem Bend. God’s Country.”

“Yes, it is,” she explained that all the way down to the coast to a certain area was God’s Country, until the mouth of the Murray River.

Then, I asked her about the history of Tailem Bend and she explained about the spiritual significance of that area. Then I added, “I also had an impression of.. you know, many years ago, in America, they used to have Revival Tents?”

“Yes, we have that — Miracle Tents were started by Ralph, and I used to travel all the way to attend. He had one at Port Elliot.”

“Near Victor Harbor?”

“No, Port Elliot is at the other side.”

Then she mentioned about a ‘Tim Paul’ who also had Miracle Tents she used to attend.

“So they are like.. local to SA? They just go around SA?”

“Yes.”

“And they actually put up a tent, like— an actual tent?”

“Yea.. an actual tent”

“Wow. And this is like now — these days, not like 1973 or something?”

“Yeap.”

“Do they have a church?”

“No, they just do Miracle Tents wherever the Holy Spirit leads.”

“That’s the way, isn’t it? Just go where the Holy Spirit leads.”

“Tim Hall’s son, David Hall, has a church in Modbury called, ‘The Heights’ ,” she added.

“What denomination is that church?”

“AOG.”

“Ah, yea, that makes sense. When was the last time they had a Miracle Tent?”

“No idea, I’ve not been catching up with their meetings or news since Covid.”

My hubby helped search for ‘Tim Hall’ and found his page, and sent it to me. My friend confirmed that this was the guy. Apparently, it was ‘Tim Hall’ and not ‘Tim Paul’ — I heard her wrongly.

At 3am the next morning, I Googled, “Tailem Bend God’s Country”. The first thing that came up was Lifepoint Church, an AOG church in Tailem Bend. I just scrolled on but couldn’t find anything related to both God’s Country or revivals in Tailem Bend. Approaching the end of my search results, something caught my eye, “Tonight, David Hall is coming for Country Revival Night in Lifepoint Tailem Bend”. It was Lifepoint’s Instagram account.

Was this the same David Hall my friend was referring to? I scrolled on and saw this..

It was Tim Hall! This was definitely the right duo. I can’t believe they actually started a church in Tailem Bend! So, God really spoke to me about this. Wow. I must find out more.

I found out that they have a Holy Spirit Conference in May 2023 and that the kids can attend the Holy Spirit kids sessions and there are Holy Spirit Youth sessions as well. Wow. Sounds amazing.

I went back to that Google search and the next link was about two paintings of the Murray River but in NSW, called God’s Country 1 and 2!
